The Australian Hibiscus Society Inc. held their Annual General Meeting yesterday 8th August 2009 at the Bribie Island Bowls Club and there were 31 members from the various branches attending and the Executive were appointed for the 2009/2010 term and the President Brian Cheers presented the various Trophies to the winners.

The Photos below are of the winners and the members attending the luncheon which we all enjoyed after the Annual Meeting. 


Brian Cheers presented Leonne Courtenay who accepted the trophies on behalf of Fred Westerman who won the Sunshine Coast Branch Trophy for Champion Seedling for the year, which this year was Anne Cheers who won the most points at all the meetings and Shows, and Fred Westerman also won the Gan-Mor Nursery Trophy for the Hybridiser of the Year for the Hybridiser who gains the most points from all the meetings and shows.

Fred Westerman also won the Foster Brady HOTY Trophy for 2009 with his bloom Doctor David Grimes which he hybridised, and Leonne Courtenay accepted the trophy on his behalf as he was unable to attend.

Each Year the President presents the Natrakelp Trophy for the members whom he considers has worked hard over the years for the betterment of the Society, and this year it went to Joy & Norm Hatton. Congratulations Norm and Joy..
